Question about car immobilizers.?

I have a 2003 Volkswagen Pat. I think the keys fell out of my purse at a friends house and the car is locked with my medicine inside it. I do have a valet key but it is not programed and I was wondering if I could use it to just open the car and not drive it or will it set the immobilizer off anyway? I'm just desperate to get to my meds and none of the so called 24 hour locksmiths have returned my call...
