Is anyone here a Human Resource Manager?

I have just finished my first year of HRM at uni, which is basically all the core subjects for business out of the way. What i want to know is, as i have 2 years and a placement year in between left before i leave, is it worth it? It sounds stupid but i have no idea what a HRM does, whats involved with their job, an example of daily routines, pay, anything? I am not sure if i want to carry on because i feel as if i am in the dark?
