How important is a guy's hair to a girl?

My hair is medium length, kinda shaggy and curls a bit but still looks clean. The calmest zephyr can completely sweep my hair up and transform it into a lion's mane. This girl I blindly fell for once told me that "as long as he has hot hair, it's fine" and so many girls (including her) are into those punk kids who have the "Business at the front, party at the back!" straightened hair style that I completely detest. This question is based on a first appearance or prima facie perspective. So, ladies, could you still keep a keen eye on a guy with wild hair?
