Do you guys believe in spells?

I keep reading so much stories about people who had a spell on them and got robbed, d, extorted, swindled, killed, even falling in love and leaving their own family. Its hard to comprehend all these unless there is a science to it. Is there? Or it only happens to the weak minded and naive.
