I have a surgical steel rod in my leg. Will I have trouble getting a military service waiver for it?
Over four years ago I severely fractured my left leg. I required several surgeries and have some gnarly scars; however, I am not impeded physically in any way. My two mile time is under 13:00 minutes and I can do more than the maximum for both push ups and sit ups (71 and 78 respectively). I am a very active person, and recently completed a half iron man triathlon. I am considering pursuing a military career in special forces as a medical sergeant. Is there any reason why I wouldn't p the physical requirements, and if I initially don't, could I get a waiver for my leg? I know the requirements are all 1's across the board with 2's for lower extremities and eyes. I also aced the ASVAB.
